Operation Outbreak: The Case of the Sick Swimmers

This interactive case study exposes students to an outbreak investigation that occurs after a number of people visit a swim club. The case includes 5 parts:

Introduction: Students are introduced to the characters and learn about their symptoms

• Hypothesis Generation

• Environmental Studies and Water Quality Investigation

• Epidemiologic Study to Test the Hypothesis

• Control and Prevention Measures

The case begins with a pre-assessment, and as it unfolds students are presented with "Stop and Think" questions, drag and drop activities, videos and more.
